The rules for twilight soccer will as pertaining to the IFAB law of the game 2024/25 retrieved.
With the following alterations:
Team Size & Age Requirements
- The maximum number of players permitted to take the field is seven (7) mixed must always have at least three (3) women on the field.
- A Minimum of four (4) players are required to avoid a forfeit.
- A maximum of twelve (12) players can be registered for any team.
- Players must be at least 16 years old to participate in the open divisions (Women’s, Men’s or Mixed). Special consideration may be given to younger players of a high standard, provided a form is completed prior to taking the field.
Shin Pads & Jewellery
- All players MUST wear shin pads that adequately cover the shin. No player may enter the field without shin pads.
- All players MUST remove ALL jewellery before taking the field.
Match Nights/Times

- Tuesday Evenings (15th October – 3rd December)
- Under 12’s at 5 pm
- Women’s at 6 pm & 7 pm
- Wednesday Evenings (16th October – 4th December)
- Men’s at 6 pm & 7 pm
- Thursday Evenings (17th October – 5th December)
- Under 14’s at 4 pm
- Under 16’s at 5 pmMixed at 6 pm & 7 pm
Match Duration

- Each match will consist of two 25-minute halves, with a 5-minute half-time and a 5-minute changeover between games. If a match starts late, the referee will reduce the length of each half to ensure the fixture finishes on time.
- In the event of a draw, the result will stand. No extra time or alternative methods will be used to determine a winner.
- All matches must commence within 5 minutes of the scheduled starting time. There will be no stoppage time.
Game Rules

- All kickoffs must be taken from the halfway line (at the start of play and after a goal is scored).
- A goal can be scored directly from a kick-off at the halfway line.
- Sliding tackles are not permitted. Players must be on both feet to make a tackle; otherwise, an indirect free kick will be awarded.
- A player (excluding the goalkeeper) who deliberately handles the ball to prevent a goal will concede a penalty and be cautioned.
- Penalty kicks are taken from 12 yards directly in front of the goal.
- For kick-outs from the goal line, opposition players cannot enter the goal circle until the ball has cleared the circle or been touched by another player (other than the original kicker)
- All goal kicks must be taken within the goal circle/box.
- A goal cannot be scored directly from a sideline ‘kick-in’.
- The offside rule does not apply.
- All teams must have a designated goalkeeper, who may only handle the ball inside the goal circle.
Interchanges

- Unlimited interchanges are allowed, and play does not need to stop for substitutions to occur.
- Interchanges must take place from the halfway line during stoppage in play.
- The player substituted must leave the field before the substitute takes the field.
Point System
-
- Win: 5 points
- Score Draw: 3 points
- Scoreless Draw: 2 points
- Loss: 1 point
- Bye: 5 points – 5-0 win
- Forfeit: 0 points – 5-0 loss
Forfeit Rules
-
- A team must have a minimum of four (4) players to take the field.
- Players must be ready to start the game at the exact scheduled time.
- If a team is unable to take the field within five (5) minutes of the scheduled start time, one goal will be awarded to the opposing team for every 2 minutes, up to a maximum of 3 goals. If the team still cannot field enough players after this period, they will forfeit the match.
Cards

- Yellow and red cards will be issued in accordance with IFAB regulations.
- All red card disciplinary matters will be dealt with by SportUNE. If a player aged 16 years or younger receives a yellow or red card, their parents and/or guardians will be notified.
Player Registration

- All teams MUST be registered with SportUNE.
- Registration will be completed via the Gameday platform.
- Teams must agree to the Code of Conduct and Insurance Waiver during the registration process.
- Players are only eligible to play in the team that they are named in.
Team Infringements

- Teams that forfeit a game will receive a loss of five (5) goals to nil (0)
- Teams that play unregistered players will be deemed to have forfeited the game.
- Teams playing players from other teams without prior approval will also be deemed to have forfeited the game.
