Competing at for the UNE Lions in the National University Sevens Series Tournament is a player’s first step to potential selection into Australian Women teams to compete at future World Series Tournaments and Commonwealth and Olympic Games.

When: – Sunday 12th March 2017

Where: Consett Davis Fields – SportUNE, University of New England, SportUNE Drive,  Armidale, 2351

Time: 9am – 4pm

Who: Female players aged 17 years and above (Players under 18 will need to provide a senior rugby consent form from the ARU available here)

Whether you are a current Rugby Union player, have played Rugby Sevens’ previously or play another Sport and are interested in making the UNE Lions squad, all are welcome to attend.

Players will also need to complete the following ARU Registration Form available here and bring this on the day.

UNE Lions Sevens team coaches will be identifying players for selection into the UNE Lions wider training squads which will train in a long term development program from March until August 2017.

These players will train in local satellites set up in Armidale, Central North, and Mid North Coast regions.

The top players from these wider training squads will be selected into the 2017 UNE Lions Rugby Squad to compete in the National University Sevens Series Tournaments later this year from August to October 2017. These athletes will be required to train in Armidale from June until October 2017.
